After the submission process is completed and all entries per Municipality are completed, citizens will be informed of the exact place, time and procedure for receiving their composter.

Terms of Use for Household Composters

Upon receiving the composter, please read the following terms of use carefully. Participation in the program and use of the composter implies acceptance of these terms.

1. Purpose

The composter is provided as part of the program to promote household composting by the Solid Waste Management Body (FoDSA) of South Aegean for the South Aegean Region, aiming to:

  • Reduce the volume of waste.

  • Promote the circular economy.

  • Produce high-quality compost.

2. Ownership and Private User Obligations

  • The composter is a property of the program and is provided for household use.

  • The private user is obliged to use the composter exclusively for processing organic waste generated from daily household activities.

  • Selling, renting, or any other transfer of the composter to third parties without the written consent of the program organizer is prohibited.

  • The private user must read the composter's operating manual and be fully informed about its proper operation and use.

  • The private user must retain possession of the packaging in which the composter was delivered and ensure its good condition.

  • In the event of relocation after receiving the composter, the user must inform the organization and return the composter along with its original packaging.

3. Maintenance and Operation

  • The private user is responsible for the proper use and maintenance of the composter according to the provided instructions.

  • In case of damage or loss, the user must immediately inform the organization.

  • The composter must be stored in a safe place and protected from adverse weather conditions.

4. Environmental Compliance

The private user is committed to adhering to environmental compliance rules and refraining from placing non-organic waste in the composter.

5. Reward Program

Participants have access to a reward program via a dedicated smartphone application. The application provides information on the proper use of the composter and updates on available reward incentives.

6. Termination of Participation

Upon the conclusion of the program or if the private user no longer wishes to use the composter, the user is obliged to return it to the organization in its original packaging.

7. Acceptance of Terms

Acceptance of the terms of use is mandatory for participation in the program. By selecting the checkbox "I Agree," you declare that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms of use.

 

Terms of Commodatum for Household Composters

The Solid Waste Management Body (FoDSA), as part of the household composting program, provides household composters to citizens under a commodatum agreement. By participating in the program, you accept the following terms of the commodatum:

1. Definitions

Lender: The Solid Waste Management Body (FoDSA).

Borrower: The individual receiving the composter for use under the program.

Commodatum: The gratuitous loan of the composter for household use during the program’s duration, with the obligation for the borrower to return the composter in its original packaging at the end of the program.

2. Purpose of the Commodatum

The composter is provided to citizens to promote the circular economy and reduce waste through household composting, within the framework of the household composting program implemented by the South Aegean Region. The composter remains the property of FoDSA.

3. Borrower’s (Private Individual’s) Rights and Obligations

The borrower is obligated to:

  1. Use the composter exclusively for household composting of organic waste.

  2. Follow the usage instructions provided by the lender.

  3. Protect the composter from damage beyond normal wear and tear due to use.

  4. Return the composter at the end of the program or at any point the borrower chooses to leave the program, in the packaging in which it was received.

  5. Assume responsibility for the replacement or repair of the composter in case of damage, loss, or misuse.

4. Lender’s Rights and Obligations

  1. The lender is obligated to deliver the composter in good condition.

  2. The lender provides support and guidance for the proper use of the composter.

  3. The lender reserves the right to reclaim the composter from the borrower if the terms of use are not followed.

5. Duration of the Commodatum

  1. The commodatum remains valid for the entire duration of the household composting program.

  2. Upon completion of the program, the borrower must return the composter to FoDSA in its original packaging.

6. Termination of the Commodatum

If the borrower fails to comply with the terms of this agreement or the terms of use for household composters, the lender reserves the right to revoke the commodatum and request the immediate return of the composter. In cases where the composter shows damage beyond normal use or where damage results from improper use, the lender is entitled to compensation.

The borrower may terminate their participation in the program at any time by returning the composter to the lender in the packaging in which it was received.

1. Data Collection and Use

The personal data collected by the services of the Solid Waste Management Body (FODSA) is limited to what is necessary for the purposes for which it is processed. Specifically, the necessity of collecting and processing the requested personal data relates to understanding the needs of your household in order to provide you with the appropriate type of composter, the proper implementation, management, and monitoring of the program, as well as fulfilling the purpose of communication to monitor progress and support the program. The purposes of communication include the promotion of informational materials, sending a greeting message from the relevant Regional Governor, as well as sending any related documents or messages related to this program. In conclusion, your personal data will be collected and processed exclusively within the framework of program implementation and for the purposes of promoting it, e.g., using the full name of data subjects among the rewarded users of household composters."

 

2. Data Sharing

FODSA does not grant or transmit personal data submitted to its services to unauthorized third parties. Exceptionally, data may be shared in cases where required by a specific legal provision, exclusively to the competent authorities. FODSA does not sell or transmit personal data to any third parties.

In cases where data sharing is necessary for the fulfillment of the program (e.g., provision of services by collaborating entities), FODSA will ensure, through specific confidentiality and non-disclosure clauses, that collaborating entities take all appropriate technical and organizational measures so that the processing they carry out complies with the requirements of the GDPR, while protecting the rights of the data subject.

It should be noted that third parties may independently collect data about you, including your IP address, information about the websites you visit, and the links you click on, through cookies, "clicks" on links, or other means during your visit.

 

3. Lawfulness of Processing

In order for the Solid Waste Management Body (FODSA) to act in compliance with the applicable legislative framework, as established after the enactment of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), it has taken the necessary actions, applying the appropriate technical and organizational measures for the lawful processing and secure storage of files/documents containing personal data, so as to ensure the protection of personal data against potential breaches (including, but not limited to, loss, leakage, alteration, transmission, or any other form of unlawful processing).
The FODSA, as the data controller within the meaning of Article 4(7) of the GDPR, collects personal data for the purpose of exercising its responsibilities. Within the context of this program, the collection and processing of your personal data is based on your explicit consent, in accordance with Article 6, paragraph 1, point (a) of the GDPR.

4. Data Processing Principles

The processing of your personal data by the Solid Waste Management Body (FODSA) is governed by the principles outlined in Article 5 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Specifically, the services of the Organization process personal data in a transparent manner, aiming to ensure that the data subject is informed in a concise, understandable way, with clear and simple wording ("lawfulness, fairness, and transparency").
The personal data provided to FODSA for the purposes of the program are as follows: Full Name, Residential Address, Civil Registry Number, Telephone Number, Email Address, Electricity Supply Number.
The aforementioned personal data are not subject to further processing in a way that is incompatible with the purpose for which they were collected. The purpose is clearly defined, explicit, and lawful, always within the framework of the proper functioning of the Organization and the provision of services to citizens ("purpose limitation").
FODSA, in implementing the program, collects only personal data that are appropriate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary for the purpose for which they are processed ("data minimization").
The goal of the services of FODSA is that the personal data collected are accurate and updated when necessary, taking all reasonable measures for the immediate correction or deletion of inaccurate data, taking into account the intended purposes of the processing ("accuracy").
Personal data are retained in physical or digital files for as long as required to complete the program or until you withdraw your consent. After the completion of the program, the data will be retained for a reasonable period for the purposes of the program, after which they will be permanently deleted ("storage limitation").
FODSA takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure that personal data are processed in such a way that ensures the appropriate security of personal data ("integrity and confidentiality").
FODSA is responsible for the processing of personal data and is able to demonstrate its compliance with the principles of the GDPR before the Supervisory Authority and the courts ("accountability").

Regardless of the method, we will process your data for the period strictly necessary to achieve the purpose of the program and will subsequently store it securely and protected for the necessary period, subject to any provisions of applicable law, including the fulfillment of any legal obligations, as well as for archival purposes in the public interest.

We are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal data and ensuring that you can exercise your rights. 7. Security
